She says she just wants to be friends?

but why dose she act like shes is so distant. i like we talked a ton the last 3 weeks and on tuesday she opened up to me and told me all about pretty much everything and as did i (this was in person not over the phone) she told me how much of a bit** she was in middle school and that it upsets her that its still in the back of her mind etc etc .... and then the next day she comes up and sits by me in the hall and we start talking we talk for about and hour and then we had to go to cl. i see her fourth period and we are in band together and we start talking and making jokes under our breath about different things like the directors and stuff after that i went home and she texted me and i said "would it be odd if i told you i like you?" and she said "no but i just like you as a friend " and i said "oh im sorry for bothering you with that :)" then she said "oh its okay " and then we started talking about midterms and all that. but today at school she seemed very distant and did not come up to me and talk in the hall like usual we did not sit next to each other in band and then today i got home texted her "Hey whats up?" then she said "nm you" and then i said "oh watching tv" and she said oh cool and then i texted her something else and she did not respond for like an hour i mean we usually have sent 50-60 texts to each other by now so what is up with her why is she so distant im being exactly what she said just a friend
