About demand draft and banking?

I didnot have any bank account in any bank,But If anyone send a Demand Draft in favour of my name,Can I encash that Demand Draft send to me from that bank by which the demand draft have made and can I encash from branch of that bank anywhere in the city where the demand draft have been payable at.If I can encash the demand draft what proof along with the draft I should take with me to the bank .please tell me
